Thanks Ricki,
it isn't a violence or even sex issue with me and my family T.V. rules. It
is a couch potato issue (that's potoe for you republicans) It does lead to
passive behavior. We watch many movies and T.V. shows. I have even been
known to sit and watch MTV with them, BUT, I am there to comment on what I
see. When something comes on that I feel is violent or, more usually, sexist
we talk about it, we acknowledge it exists but we don't need to experience
it. I am one of the more liberal parents around. I let my kids watch almost
anything as long as I watch it with them to keep some perspective.
I WISH I COULD THINK OF AN OB. SALINGER. Wait! in this weeks New Yorker
there is a small refernce to him in an article about Dellio (sp?). The
article is good, but be warned, it is the only one not dealing with Princess
Di. I have been saddened by her death but if you are on the other side of
that fence I would skip this issue.
