Cursory introduction...

Dear All

Given the comforting precedent set by "Spierlow" and a few others recently
in respect to introduction-making, I think it's safe for me to say Hello,
now (hitherto a scary prospect.)

I learnt of this list from a fellow-subscriber (thanks Brad). I first
encountered CitR by accident in my high school library. I'd only heard of
it vaguely. I was under the impression that it was a novel about a
serial-killing that took place on a bus. I read it with apprehension.

It was not a novel about a serial-killing that took place on a bus. It was
wonderful. I read it in a single toilet-break-punctuated sitting. (I write
this as testimony, not as an attempt to impress!)

I, too, have only read the published books. If it's not too tedious an
endeavour, would somebody be able to tell me exactly how one goes about
excavating the other stories? It's alarming to think that there exist bits
of Salinger that I haven't consumed, yet.

Sadly, I am one of the naive ferrets whom thought this list would be
characterised by the "What's ya favourite book?" type of discussion; but I
am learning to enjoy the type of exchange that is actually being
undertaken.

I live in Perth, in Western Australia. I know there exists at least one
other Australian subscriber. I'd be interested to learn just how large
(and formidable?) a force we are.

My name is Miranda.

Sincerely
Miranda
