I've thought of this too. It's very unpleasant though, because there's
nothing that gnaws me inside more than knowing that the only one of my
favourite authors who is still *alive* (it's kind of like being able to ask
Shakespeare about his plays) will never, ever answer a letter I write him,
no matter my good intentions. 

I think he will either surrender all of them or none of them. Given the
event in which the former is possible, it's somewhat of a Pyrrhic victory.
