(: ) It was called "Slight Rebellion Off Madison" (a telling title in so many ways!), bought by the NYer before the war, but not published until after the war. I used it once in a writing class to make a point of what a writer can do through revision and through a shift in the narrator's point of view; if you read the two accounts side-by-side, it's a good lesson in applied craftsmanship. --tim o'connor
