No, not to my knowledge.  Salinger never said a thing about what he
intended with B-fish.  But I have always suspected, because of the way
the story characterizes the relationship between Seymour and Muriel, and
because of the meticulous way in which the last episode (elevator to
room to shooting), and especially the last paragraph, seems to
anticipate a murder, that Sal had a particular effect in mind.
