Within the past year someone has released hardcover editions of _Catcher_ and the _Nine Stories_ that have pictures (or at least drawings) on their paper dust jackets. Foskett's site refers to an incident in Britain where Salinger sued his British publishers for putting a picture of Esme on the cover of their edition of _Nine Stories_, and from then on (as we all know) JDS's books have come in plain white-covered paperback form. Did Salinger authorize these new hardbound editions? Does he even know they exist? ________________________________________________________ G.H.G.A.Paterson (804)662-3737 gpaterso@richmond.edu ________________________________________________________
