but I would not go as > far as to say that Teddy McArdle was simply a rehash or a reincarnation of > Seymour Glass. Oh no, I'm not saying that at all. That's specifically what I'm *not* saying. What I mean is that in S:AI, Buddy actually mentions that he wrote `Teddy', therefore it is a story filtered through the sensibility of someone who has known Seymour. Buddy actually describes in S:AI how certain elements of Seymour were sort of transformed and fitted on to Teddy without actually basing the character on him. There's no implication whatsoever that Teddy is the reincarnation of Seymour or anything like that, just that Buddy has used his `real' experiences with Seymour (which are in fact fictional) to create a fiction. Quite strange, but interesting. > > ...too, because people might get the wrong idea if he's an adult. Why not > make > > him her sister ...' etc etc. > > If you make Teddy Booper's sister, people might get a wrong idea after all... > :) O for cryinge out loud, you knew what I meant (: And by the way, S:AI might seem inscrutable at first glance but toil through it, it's definitely worth the work.
