It's almost too easy for you these days, isn't it? But hey, turnabout and
all that. Perhaps we poor beleagured American Democrats should direct
our vision overseas and make some cracks about the Irish leadership.

Umm... who might that be? Oh. Right. Eamon de Valera.

Good man. Heroic and all that. Amazing story-- they could make movies
out of it. Ireland's really lucky to be lead by a man like him.

What's that? You say he's dead? You're kidding. And you've elected
someone new? Gee, that's terrific. Ireland needs a president. I mean,
I'm sure he's very important and all, what with all those pressing
Irish issues to deal with all the time. He must get tons of things
done every day.

What's that? You say he's a woman? Well, I give up. You'd think Ireland
would let the rest of the world know when they've done something important
like elect a new president. Yeesh. Time to check out what's going on in
Washington again. Let me know when something important happens, OK?

(Wind, wind, wind, wind...)

Laughing regards,
Cecilia.

ObSal: Bessie Glass was Irish, something which I've always felt was a little overlooked. It should be more important, methinks.
