"(...) a rather fundamental, perhaps even welcome,
change in the lives of a whole lot of Iraqis."

Which has brought the greater change? Hussein being enthroned
by the CIA, or his being deposed by, as his former puppet rather
affectionately still calls him in his speeches, 'Little Bush'?

Remember your dissapointment before a real Plaza de Toros?
Well, let's say we put aside that stupid bull from that fourth-rate
story, and talk about people. If you lived here, you'd think twice
before the paeans. 'Enduring liberty' and all that is often no more
than so many banderilleros and toreadores. In my hemisphere it is
sometimes very, very difficult to see how some American actions
carried out in these parts of the world are in the best interest of
    the American people.

The fact that theirs is undeniably an exemplary democracy with
an admirable history of fighting for human rights doesn't make
    the comparison easier.

(All right. Last stop before going back to lurking.)

    Saludos,
    Diego D.
