    "... eiskalter Entschluß ...'

Heavenly! From now on, that'll be the boyo for me.
I don't recognise the source - though I suppose it has
the flavour of Reinhard the Oberguppenfuhrer. I was
only fourteen at the time of Wannsee.

Which circumstance also accounts for my continuing
starry eyed response to anything & everything American.
It was around the same time I watched those newly arrived
GIs marching in from the Belfast docks. They had no horses,
of course, but they looked more like the Seventh Cavalry
than a legion of invaders. Naturally, that favourable impression
was heightened by the presence then of Reinhard & his chums
only twenty or thirty miles across the Channel.

I never got over it. Whether it was Ernie Hemingway or
Georgie Porgie Gershwin or Julius Marx, subsequent
encounters served only to strengthen that first rapture.
And, as even a unillusioned tango-dancer like yourself must
recognise, when you're in love all the conspiracy theories
in the world - all the icily presented evidence - avail but fuck all.

Incidentally, anyone who prefers 'epanaphora' to plain
'anaphora' leaves himself open to the suspicion of dandyism
& what you would call *refinement* - which I'm sure you
would wish to avoid. I realise there are no homosexuals
south of Panama but you mustn't let your anxiety drive you
    into machismo. They're quite harmless.

P.S. Please don't even consider returning to lurkdom. Whom
would I turn to then for civilised conversation? (OK, apart from
    Robbie.)

    Scottie B.
