Thanks to all who exspressed interest in our "Bananafish" discussion. I
think the IRC would be great, but I'm having trouble keeping our telnet
clients working--at least, I don't think I can get them working again
before tomorrow (ah, Novell, ah humanity!). So unless there is some other
way to work an IRC, we're going to go with the java chat applet that runs
from our class web page. Unfortunately, only java-enabled browsers
recognize the applet, so you'll need Netscape 3.something (I think there
are souped-up versions of other releases available) or Internet Explorer
to participate.

If you are interested, we'll be on line from roughly 1:30 to 2:00 (eastern
time) tomorrow afternoon at

http://parallel.park.uga.edu/~mkozusko/102/102.html

I realize this is short, but the period is only an hour long. I'd love to
have some extra members tomorrow, but I am always expecting technical
difficulties, so kindly forgive if things aren't working smoothly. With
this applet, our server handles almost all the work, and it has run just
fine thus far with my twelve students. I don't think additional
participants will cause any problems.

So please come, if you are interested. I don't know exactly what to
expect--these people are new to Salinger, and most of them are new to
literature, but they're smart. If I can just keep them talking about the
story...

Matt
