Hey folks,
Well, I'm new to this list, and thought I'd say hello. I've lurked
around in here for a few days, and I like the discussions that I see. ANyway,
surprise surprise, I'm writing a paper. I'm doing a paper on Seymour based on
is relationship with his wife vs. Sybil. Now first off, I'm not scrounging for
a paper. This thing is optional, and I'm doing it because I'm actually
interested (thought: isn't it wierd how at some strange point in your academic
career you actually begin to do things that you want to do, not something
you're forced to do? hmmmm) and this is something I've though about, and would
like to discuss with others who are knowledgeable and interested. My feelings
on the subject are wide ranging-> I feel that Seymour relates better to Sybil
because she is a child, and he obviously has childish tendencies, with his
fertile imagination(not to suggest that children are the only one's with
imaginations! I think you understand)
. Muriel seems to be a stuck up, middle class daddy's boy
with nothing more important than her nails and her sex life to worry about
(kind of like Karen in "Goodfellas"-> wierd parallel I know, but one I've made
since I read the story) Anyway, I'm going to be working diligently on this for
the next week and a half, so feel free to either post, or e-mail me personally.
                Thanks for reading,
                Andrew
