Hey all. Thanks everyone who wrote hello e-mail. It was appreciated. As to
some of the postings:

Marco--Nick Cave has published two books. The novel you're referring to, And
The Ass Saw The Angel, and a collection of lyrics and the like called King
Ink. I haven't read either of them, but I hear the novel demands a lot of
time and patience as he's trying to write in a lyrical, biblical style. I
hear it's very rewarding to get through, but something like climbing a
mountain.

As for King Ink, it's okay. if you have the albums that's really all you
need. Cave's rhymes are so bad I can't imagine reading them without the
benefit of the music. But that's my prejudice.

Travis--Hey there. REM is one of my favorites. Automatic For The People is
one of the best albums ever recorded, but I can never find anyone to enthuse
about it to. So I guess you're it. If you're a film production,
cimematography major then what films do you find very good on that level?
For cinematography I heartily recommend Dead Man, an amazing film visually,
and the work of Jeunet and Caro who did The City of Lost Children and
Delicatessen. Mind blowingly amazing stuff.

Janet--No offense taken. I used to HATE Whitman with a raving passion. It
started when in fourth grade we read some nature poem torn completely out of
context from Leaves of Grass and got worse in high school when we were given
all the inoffensive pap. When I got to College I read "Crossing Brooklyn
Ferry" and my opinion of him was rocked and dramatically changed. I strongly
recommend that one before writing Whitman off. It is an astonishing
meditation on time, history, and connections between people. I could go on,
but I'd bore you. Check it out, it's wonderful!

Finally, and forvgive my ignorance, but could someone please tell me about
The Bell Jar; I'm totally unfamiliar with it.

Thanks,

Charles
