I think this is a particularly brilliant comparison.  I don't really always
want meet writers I admire -- what's to say?  I think the Wailing Wall
image -- with its hope that slipping a note might gain something good -- is
very accurate.  Because really, what is there to be said to his face?  I
wouldn't want to be Betty  Eppes, raving at him, "Will there be a sequel to
Catcher in the Rye?"
