Brendan, I'm not offended but think that before someone decides criticism
is not valid or worthwhile, one should know the criticism.  The truth is
that I think all of us could have more informed reading responses which is
why I think we are online to begin with...ignoring the wealth of salinger
crit doesn't make sense to me, and since you post so much I thought you
might enjoy expanding some of direction and reach of your ideas, will

ps I don't see where my post expresses personal offense, though I will
admit I'm  being defensive about criticism since I think some banafish may
benefit from critical readings and because I don't agree with mr.
salinger's bias against critics.  If you recall, this discussion started
because I suggested a piece of criticism that included some of the
thinking you posted...IMHO you might have "danced" with Alsen's ideas and
seen more to your own, but your response made it clear this is not your
desire.  I accept that but hope other bananafish don't, which is why I
made my dylan post.
