Hi, salingerians! Happy to meet you! This is my first message to a newsgroup and, being myself a salingerian (later i'll explain how i became a salingerian citizen) , obviously i chose to subscribe the group of my beloved salingerian planet ! Do you think there is water on the salingerian planet? Well, i guess there is the milk of paradise ! How can i introduce myself? Let me just tell you that i have been living most of my earthly life without reading anything by JDS. Fortunately i bumped into him, metaphorically speaking, about two years ago when i was given the opportunity of analysing the language of mythical Catcher. At the very beginning i approached it very professionally but without getting involved emotionally too much. But after a while the miracle of those pages pervaded me (and i'm no longer a teenager) to the point that now i'm here spending my holiday after Easter, which is usually spent picnicing, writing to you, old salingerians, asking for and trying to give suggestions about all belongs to the Planet (let me call it this way, as if "Planet" were the nickname of JDS and his works: can i do so?) Let me stop being silly and phoney. Dear Maggie, I love Chicago. It' a great city and i'm in love with it and with the States in general. Happy you've chosen JDS for your Honour Project. I'm an English teacher too and I appreciate your choice in that you've plenty of material to write your ho-pro. You say that you can show your ability to connect anything in the world to the author. Have you already thought of a particular aspect of JDS' works you could investigate in your ho-pro? Are you more interested in the literary or in the linguistic phenomena ? Let me know and i'll try to help you . Anyway, I perfectly agree with Will when he says that Mr Salinger speaks directly to our hearts and mind , without regard to our age: you may be a teen or an adult, but his words speak to our soul. Looking forward to hearing from you soon Annalisa ---------- > Da: VertCiel <VertCiel@aol.com> > A: bananafish@lists.nyu.edu > Oggetto: An Introduction > Data: domenica 12 aprile 1998 23.01 > > Sorry, I know that subject line is a little cheesy.
