Hi, Brendan !
You've probably read my letter to Maggie.
I agree that JDS created a textual world which you cannot get out of once
you've entered it, but I'm here to answer your question and throw out ideas
for discussion.
I'm deeply interested in the linguistic features of the Catcher and I'm
looking for people who would like to share their ideas about this topic.
1. What do you think of Holden's brachilogic syntax?
2. Why does he make so large use of the word "old": old Phoebe, old
Maurice, old cap and the like?
3. What is his epistemic position in general?

There are only simple and perhaps provocative questions so that you can
have material for discussion, if you'd like to discuss.

hope to contact someone with the same kind of interests in the topic.
Annalisa
