Absolutely right. I didn't frame it very well. I meant that Holden
doesn't quite seem to know what to make of sex (which is natural for
a sixteen year old), but also that he does not actually have any
erotic moments with any girl (I've even read one critic say the
closest thing to an erotic moment he has is while dancing with
Phoebe, which seems a little sick to me) - he sifts through just
about every form of sexuality and none seems right for him (hey
here's a subversive suggestion : IS HOLDEN GAY ?) and survivors of
sexual abuse either tend to become sexually voracious or else totally
the opposite.
