Because he's a brilliant and underrated actor and the French just had the
foresight to give him a Lifetime Achievement Award a few months back, the
youngest person ever to receive on in France.

Plus, he'd make a good Seymour. Except he may be just a little too good
looking. As for journal keeping - if you ever read `Burton on Burton'
(about the director Tim Burton - one of my faves, BTW) which features a
foreword by Depp, you may wonder, as I did, why no one has so far picked
him up for a publishing deal. He's a damn fine writer (and, much as I like
him, a much better writer than Ethan Hawke )
