I received materials to review Margaret Salinger's
memoir...unfortunately I think it will make this fall season tough on
our man in Cornish. The book is due out on 9/7/00 and if it is as
well written as its introduction, then it will be hard to put down.
Pun intended...I'm already conflicted about anticipating a book that
will change the way I "see" Salinger and believing that most of what
is worth seeing is already in the pages of his fiction. Anyhow,
Salinger in the news will shape our fall as much as Albany's report
of a mediocre harvest for apples in NY...maybe more, will
