I guess I can't blame the teens in this country that spend 90% of their
income on clothes and shoes and radio systems for their cars for not
knowing the ins and outs of communism.

I don't think I could agree with you more. The U.S. Bishops get blasted
many times for having Communist tendencies, when really they just
want, as you say, all of us to get along. Unfortunately, Christianity is no
good as a political party. They needed something on paper, and
Communism and/or socialism probably came pretty close. But due to
McCarthyism and the Cold War, the scarlet letter, as it were (no pun
intended) will take a very long time to pass. Maybe if we breed an entire
generation of ignoramuses (ignorami?), by the time they are in their
senior years everyone can start anew.
