personally, the little criticism i've read about the
glasses usually gets bottled up with not accepting
them as viable fictional creations and never
progresses beyond that to analyze form, authorial
intent, etc.. wasn't it mary mccarthy that said the
glasses were merely the 9 faces of salinger?
