No, opinions can be wrong too :). And you're not talking about opinions (Ben
and Jerry's Ice Cream is better than Breyer's), you're talking about the
reception of Christianity in the public sphere -- which is a matter of factual
occurence, it's something we can observe.

I think the differences between you and Adam are one of emphasis. It's true
that the groups currently complaining about the presentation of Islamic lit.
probably wouldn't complain if the Bible was taught instead, but it's quite
likely other groups would then stand up and complain.

I think the real issue is that these types of standards just don't need to be
applied to college classrooms. There should be more freedom to discuss whatever
literature is being presented there.

I taught the introduction to Said's _Orientalism_ and Rushdie's essay "In Good
Faith" in one of my college composition courses. I wouldn't have backed off of
that no matter what pressure was applied.
