it's interesting that the 'book' editor says that 'salinger is the holy grail for people on the pop cultural side of the literary world.' 'pop cultural side' seems like a putdown to me.
this situation of his readership coming to his writings at such a young age: i wonder how salinger reads to someone who, instead of finding him at 15, came to him at 35 or 45....
