I'm not sure I was the original poster, but I do love the book (and I do
think it is "sexy, sensual, heart-rending, and exotic" in many ways). I'm not
sure why you felt let down, but I have always found the ending rather poignant
and strangely appropriate.
In about two months from now I should be using it in a class and will no
doubt have more specific thoughts then, if you still want to chat about it. In
