well, yeah, for you maybe. thing is, there are plenty of people who
are taken advantage of by these things. their self-conscious, poor
self esteem selves are literally preyed upon it seems at times.
these magazines aren't the cause of the coming armageddon or
anything, but they are another coal in the fire that is devouring a
large portion of society. young girls, old women, whatever.
sometimes it seems like they are targets.
for the record, i don't mind saying i personally hate "mens"
magazines of any type. the trendy pop GQ things. you look at those
things and about all they are to me are a sign of the intense
materialistic escapism of the western world. the porno mags, playboy
to hustler and everything between and beyond are filth. i'm not
going to tell you i'm not tempted to look. men are naturally
stimulated by sight. i don't pick, i try not to look again, i've
never bought (yes i saw the crap when i was a kid though). i have
some personal morals that come into my feelings about this stuff that
i guess others might not agree with or even understand so i won't
mention those, but universally i think that kind of magazine leads to
a basic disrespect for women and contribute to the problems of rape,
sexual harassment, etc. feel free to disagree with me, i don't
really care.
oh, and i'm probably still trying to get a date with a feminist
(although, I do live in like Norway so it might be kinda difficult)
originally from seattle (like you care)
