A thought though: is this woman the `housewife' that Ian Hamilton
mentions
in `In Search of JD Salinger' having finally realised the moneymaking
potential in having known him?

I didn't think the response had anything to do with age difference, but
with how big a jackass Salinger was.  That was my first impression,
anyways...
