Assuming he's not gonna try a kafka, there's new salinger writing > perhaps even with new Glass family members or more about our loved ones in > any case...that is wonderful news! I thought *everyone* knew this - I remember it as part of the Salinger vs. Hamilton case, where Salinger was asked whether he still writes he said `yes' (but not unsurprisingly didn't elaborate) and `close sources' reported he had at least two full length manuscripts in the kitty. (though kudos to you if you've managed to avoid that particular book) That think about the Glass scrapbook is interesting though ... no wonder his kids think he loves the Glasses more than he loves them. Having ol' JD as a dad would be a strange experience indeed! I'm curious to know exactly what JD intends to do with these manuscripts. I'm as pessimistic as anyone as to their likelihood of publication, but you never know ... > One thing about the Maynard piece though that I must take issue with even > before reading it...anyone claiming to have a memory/perception that is > documentary in acumen creates great doubts in this poet's mind. Yes, this raises doubts in my mind too - not about her accuracy or lack of accuracy, but the audacity to even assume such a thing. Although it stirred in my mind a comparison to a certain `prose home video' offered up by a certain B. Glass. I wonder if she was making a subconscious reference to it? To give you an idea of how big this story is, there was even a short write up of it in the Sydney Morning Herald today. My mother said `Gee ... I'd love it if they always published thirty year old pictures of *me* when they wrote articles about me' (: Camille verona_beach@geocities.com @ THE ARTS HOLE www.geocities.com/Hollywood/Theater/6442 THE INVERTED FOREST www.angelfire.com/pa/invertedforest
