Since Camille has her driver examples, I feel that I must say I have
memories of many crazy passengers with problems similar to those most
perceive of cabbies (not knowing where they are going, using language
poorly, not respecting others fairly, acting very weirdly, etc.) and
remembered a fellow from Dallas who got in my cab one very hot summer new
york night.  He insisted I turn on the air conditioning.  I laughed
letting him know if I had it I wouldn't be waiting for him to turn it on.
He didn't believe and refused to acknowledge that the air being blowed by
the heater (which I finally turned on in hopes of proving he was mistaken)
was hot, and refused to pay me when he got to his destination because I
tried to "trick" him.  These days, with the heat season in texas, I think
of him fondly, will
