Just because I'm relatively unoccupied at the moment, and not to start
any "guess who I met" threads, but..

Ever heard of an Australian band called "Bucks Fizz"??

...the only other semi famous people other than Lauren Bacall that I can
claim to have ever met, were Doug Moe - ex-coach of the Denver
Nuggets - and Rich Karlis, the old Broncos place kicker. (Does Robert
Hass count?) So, I for one, can't claim to "know" any celebs. 
I can actually say I enjoy keeping them at an iconic distance, especially
JDS. 
Thus, I take the most profound pleasure in meeting other types - such as
eccentric cabbies and hot dog vendors here in underground-less
Washington DC.
