Has anyone seen a film called "Days of Heaven" of the
same director of "The Thin Red Line"?(incidentally,
"TTRL" was written by James Jones, who I penned
another really well known film, I think something like
"From Here to Eternity", though I could be wrong).

One of my film teachers a while back actually gave us
a short section on Malick since "TTRL" was just about
to come out(it was the same year "Star Wars Episode 1"
was coming out for those who don't remember lol, all
these director's of old coming back to try again).
Malick's been called the "J.D. Salinger" of Hollywood;
that is he is also very reclusive and pretty
uncompromising of his work. Many of the actors in
"TTRL" signed on just to work with the director and
took lower wages even. Back to "Days of Heaven", it's
got a really Salinger-esque feel to it, althought the
story is nothing like any that Salinger has told.
Another film Malick directed that people may know is
"Bad Lands" which I haven't seen yet.
