Jake,
No, the Democracts might not have created Sore Loserman signs, they just
called in Jesse Jackson and others for daily demonstrations claiming
disenfranchisement. If they wanted their votes counted, they should have
followed the instructions and time deadlines. It's like elementary school
homework: after you hand it to the teacher, you deal with the outcome.
Don't be so defensive about the witty signs. I think a lot of people
appreciated them on both sides. Remember, that many, many Democrats were
against Gore's pushing for excessive, manual recounts. They saw him as the
priveledged brat that he is. Bush is not any less of a brat, but I find it
incredibly interesting how America doesn't see Gore as the same type of
child: his father was a very powerful, senior senator that definitely paved
the way for his son to enter the political arena. You like to talk about
your so-called Bush Sr. mishaps without speaking about the elder Gore. What
about when Gore's father filibustered the senate floor for 72 days in an
attempt to block the Civil Rights Act from being passed?
Jake, What veteran votes did the Republicans not want to count? Possibly
the ones that would have been counted illegally? Yeah. The Democrats,
especially the Daly family, are famous for vote fraud and illegal votes,
not the Republicans.
In response the your "sore-loser hypocracy," I think the block of text
above shows why the man deserved it. You are a sore loser when you attempt
to undermine the constitution voting process to have your votes unfairly
counted. It is not the job of voting officials to consider the intent of a
voter. The manual counts, as proven by the Supreme Court decision, were
unconsititutional in many aspects. In my book, when you receive an outcome
and bawl and complain in a vain attempt to get things to turn your way you
are a sore loser. When you seek legal action on the American voting
process, you are a sore loser. When you conceed an election and then take
it back, you are a sore loser.
In response to the "lewinsky hypocracy," the Republicans felt as if
perjury, bribery, and undermining the legal process were criminal acts
punishable by law. If American citizens are obligated to obey such laws,
why shouldn't the president? They did not waste time. They followed the
proper procedure outlined for impeaching the President. I just don't see
how your point holds any water here.
Regarding your note: what people in Kuwait are still suffering at the hands
of Saddam? Also note that nation building is not a responsibility of our
country. Foreign policy that has an effect on our country is one thing,
but, as George Washington taught, neutrality in matters that do not pose a
threat to our nation is the best position for our country.

I do enjoy this debate :)
