i'll have to agree with Cold Fishes review of the 22 stories. And Jims, and to some extent Wills.
some are nice, but some are crap, especially the ones which look like pre studies to CITR. I was dissapointed by them, in a way that made me like CITR less. So this is fair warning. But if you're an avid fan (what does avid really mean?) you should read them. Personally, i gave up when I read thru the beginning of Hapworth.
It IS hard to believe that a 7-yearold could say all these things, even if you think of it as a style. Especially when he begins about the school marm.
I mean, come on! Seriously, the fact that the reader knows that Seymour is seven years old really deteriorates something about the story here, you don't take it as serious as you would when he would be older or something.

I think JDS was simply showing him self a normal writer here, in not publishing the stories, at least some. When something is bad, you don't publish.
It would reek of money grubbing to publish them now, something a publisher would want for the extra buck. I guess JDS'es behaviour is recomendable.
