Ted, first of all, I was stunned by your question about how and why
"Glass" became Seymour's last name...I'm utterly clueless on that one.

I'm glad we can agree that Paul Alexander tried to explain too much
about JDS based on his sexual history and I think you're right that
Muriel did attract Seymour sexually and not Sybil. Why do you think
Seymour was attracted to Muriel? Is it because of how she looks like
Charlotte, because she honors marriage deeply, or because Seymour
doesn't see sex as holy (I suspect Salinger doesn't either--what a
mistake!) and needs someone very secular to have fun with...waddaya
think? will
