i agree in 1961 jds intended the two frannys to be
one.

where we diverge is the state of the author's
intention in late 1954, very early '55, re 'franny'
with no surname.

had he imagined her part of the glass family (then to
date consisting of seymour, webb & boo boo)?

[is walt called a glass in 'uncle wiggly'?-- i don't
think so--he is later appropriated for inclusion in
the family when it is formally announced ten months
after the publication of 'franny' with 'raise high']

and we're off seeking the superlative horse....
