Chashama is an arts organization that takes over empty spaces all over New
York City and turns it either into gallery or theatre space. I understand
this particular gallery used to be one of those Times Square porn palaces
before it became an arts consortium. There's an opening the same night as
my reading, as well as several other events.
I love the checkered history of Times Square.
