I think it is possible, on many crucial levels. But *ultimately*, there
will always be a bit of a gap. Some of the nuances are necessarily lost.
We're arguing the same point, from different ends.

And when people invoke "universality," they're usually making a plea for
*effective* universality--universal for all practical purposes. Which is
fine and lovely. But the idea that there are things that apply to everyone,
everywhere and across all time, is silly.
