The last time I was in New York, I walked around Central Park after midnight
and not once did I fear for my life or the loss of my property. I am amazed
at the things that John is sentimental about. I guess a whiner will always
find something to whine about.

As long as we're mourning the gradual passing of old New York...

How 'bout a moment of sad and respectful silence for the filthy and immoral
glory that was Time Square before the good guys got to it?

Here's to the old peeps and porn shops and winos and whores and all the
rest...

Especially today, December 7th, the birthday of their poet laureate.

Happy Birthday, Tom.

"and hey barkeep what's keepin you keep pourin drinks
for all these palookas hey you know what I thinks
that we toast to the old days and dimaggio too
and old drysdale and mantle and whitey ford and to you"
