David says: I just started reading _The Bell Jar_, by Sylvia Plath I know this isn't a Plath discussion list (although if anybody knows of one similar to this PLEASE let me know), but I have to take this opportunity to recommend that any readers of the Bell Jar read Plath's poetry books (especially "Ariel" and "The Colossus") as a companion. There are many connections between the prose and the poetry, and they shed a lot of light on each other. Also, if you're REALLY interested in Sylvia (the Diana of literature to Salinger's Adonis), I suggest picking up a copy of "Letters Home", a book of her letters that brings to the surface a lot that's left out in the Bell Jar. Sorry for the cross-author digression, folks. Brendan Free web-based email, Forever, From anywhere! http://www.mailexcite.com
