It just kind of tells you how spiritually evolved our culture is, that anyone with what is generally considered talent/gifts/genius is expected to want to parade themselves in front of the world, as if the attention of the world (and all the attendant stalkers lying in wait for you in the shadows) and all the riches it holds would ever be enough to balance out the sheer joy you felt when you wrote your first poem.
