This is to me one of the best points made In F&Z, and one I think of A LOT.
It was Zooey who said to Franny that everyone wants treasure, whether it be
money, power, prestige, knowledge, even <gasp> wisdom and closeness to God.
Zooey was pointing out to Franny that she, who hated all of those ignorant
little treasure horders, was in fact doing the same thing, only that she was
hording spiritual treasure.  I feel myself doing the same thing, and it
frustrates me.  JDS resolves the treasure issue by advocating doing everything
"for the Fat Lady."
