Just an odd email guardedly offering general information.  I assumed it
was a list-related matter, but, as far as I could see through the mess
of my mail filters, there was no corresponding list activity.  I assume
now that the mystery mailer found Sonny's FAQ page (perhaps one of the
early incarnations), which features a an ambiguous solicitation for
"material" and a mailto link to me.  My mistake, then.    

Anyway, Salinger apparantly has a wooden leg and a tattoo of Shirley
Temple on his belly.
