That is not a very good example because the people who write for
Sports Illustrated are paid to do it, it's their job. Also, people pay
to read the magazine so they expect it to be only about sports. The
people on the bananafish list are not paid to write and the list is a
series of conversations and like any conversation sometimes it can get
side tracked. I don't see why it matters anyway considering that most
of the conversations are about Salinger's works and you can always
decide not to read or respond to someone else's posting if you wish.
