"trying to sell" something implies that someone must be convinced to buy it,
i.e., come to the conscious conclusion that they desire it.  Brainwashing
removes the conscious decision from the process.

i was also speaking as a Catholic.  but, as understanding of this new category
of personage has forever and anon been denied me, i exit this part of the
