A lot of us still haven't understood some bits the tenth time (: But I guess that's all part of the fun of it. If I wanted to understand everything and not question it and zing straight from A to B on a perfectly even trajectory I would be reading Jackie Collins. When I first read `Nine Stories' there were certain stories I left out altogether to give the others a bit of breathing space in my mind. It's strictly a matter of personal preference but I hardly ever read short story books in order the first time around. Don't be afraid to read what ever pleases you and leave the others to be discovered another day. There's nothing worse than discovering a story at exactly the wrong time and having it ruined for you for good.
