I'm replying to the thread before having read all of the responses,
so please forgive me if I'm repeating thoughts similar to those that
have already been expressed. Just some quick thoughts.
1 - Kevin Smith (the writer and director of Dogma) is a practicing
Catholic. He is pointing out issues he sees within his own
community. There are black people who do the same thing. White
people too. It would be (and is) great when people can get together
across those barriers and exchange opinions in a non-hostile way (and
I do NOT mean non-emotional), it just doesn't happen that way enough.
2 - Just as there are white people who would not use the "n" word,
there are black people who don't go around calling people cracker and
honky. Let's put this in perspective. There are people on both
sides who have hatred and/or resentment (if you even want to call
them sides).

And where exactly do you believe that "they" came from? Maybe "they"
aren't upset about what "our" ancestors put "their" ancestors
through. Maybe "they" are pissed off at being seen as "they" by YOU.
Just a thought.
And another thought, why do you (whoever you are) assume that you are
talking to only white people on this list?
