Wasn't there some really bad Mel Gibson movie where he played some
schizophrenic and he had like twenty copies of CITR in his apartment, along
with other things paranoid schizos like to have lying around the place? I
don't recall Mel Gibson actually describing the book or anything, so the
presence of the book in respect to his craziness wasn't really significant in
any way, shape or form. This is, I think, still putting the book in a
negative light. Maybe I should make a movie about Mother Teresa, make
everything aspect of the movie false (except for the whole selfless devotion
to humanity and all), and make her favorite book CITR. She could carry it
around in that thing she would always wear on her head. That would be some
positive publicity for our dear Holden Caulfield, don't ya think?
