Angie, I feel your pain. I like the mall just not the
people in it. Let's just put it this way, I think I'd
be fine if I didn't have to deal with people. The only
safe place is to go to a bookstore. I do the usual
drill, check under the letter S and see if Catcher is
there. And then grab some books and sit down and
browse through them.

I am so in love with every kid I see. It drives me
crazy when I see these mothers and they're screaming
at the kid saying "I said don't do that!!! You hear
me??!!" You'd think they're gonna beat up their kid
right then and there. Oh the horror. I don't know if
kids are receptive to your charms, I kinda think
they're receptive to mine. I'm so happy when I'm
around them. I know they shouldn't talk to strangers
and all but they sorta come to me. It's so cute.

One time I was at Chapters, and there was this blond
boy with curly hair (probably 5 years old) and he's
wearing jean overalls, and there I was looking at the
Modern Library books ...next thing I know this kid is
tugging at my jacket. He goes to me "that's mommy and
that's daddy", pointing at his folks. I sorta touched
his head. It was pure joy. Another time, I was just
sitting at the mall, and this boy (also very
young)just starts touching my jeans. I don't know if
he liked the colour of it or what. He was just
looking at me like he knew me or something. It was
unbelivable. His folks kept asking him to go and I'm
pointing at the direction of his parents but he
wouldn't go. When he finally did go, he got to about
5 steps and he starts running back to me. I have no
idea why that kid seemed to think he knows me. And now
his younger sister is also running toward me. I sorta
touched both their heads. I just can't help myself.
Someone should get me a restraining order.

Sorry, I know I've kinda gone overboard with the kid
story. It just makes me SOOOO HAPPPY!!! Next time you
go to the mall, maybe some kid will make you happy. Oh
they're the bliss of existence.
