A few days before christmas I was lucky enough to find an
English copy of "For Esmé - with love and squalor" (the
yellow-tinted one with the girl - Ace Books H235)...
So far I only had a Danish translation...

The two editions don´t have the same running order, and
I remember the edition I originally read (another Danish
edition) had yet another running order...

For instance, I remember my first one opened with "The
Laughing Man", which is #4 in the Danish edition I have,
but #3 in the English one...

I was wondering if anyone could tell me the "correct"
running order???

Did Salinger himself choose the order in which to read
the stories, or did the editor/publisher???

Last, but not least: I´m very interested in tracking
down the magazines with the underpublished stories
(I had them once, but lost them - the stories, that
is, not the magazines)... I never got to read any
of them (what a tragedy) - so what stories would you
suggest that I try to find first??? Are there any
on the Glass family???
