My first knee jerk reaction would be to call it coincidental, because it's a
VERY common verbal trick, esp. among Zooey's generation and a couple
generations immediately following. I'd even guess that Buddy isn't Buddy's
real name, but a nickname given him by someone else's use of this verbal
trick (probably Seymour). But that's just guessing on my part.
